Chemistry special effects movie
Purpose: Create a three to five minute movie that uses chemistry special effects that we create.
Our Project: My group and I were very exited when we were first given this project. We began by brainstorming if we should create a movie or do a clip from an existing move. We all combined our ideas and decided to do a clip from star wars. Next we wrote out or scene and all the special effects we were planning on doing. The next couple day we filmed or movie. The setting of the scene was in a dark misty swamp with yoda and luke skywalker in it. As we were filming we soon came to the realization that We were not going to be able to do all of the special effects that we had planned for the scene because of lack of time, lack of resources and an unrealistic plan. Unfortunately we were already to far into the project to change our scene. we completed filming and this is our final project.

Chemistry Concepts explained:
Dry Ice - Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide which is a normal part of the earths atmosphere. It is called dry ice because it goes directly from a solid to a gas skipping the liquid phase which is also known as sublimation. The reason it does this is because the dry ice is -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit when its a solid, so when it is exposed to the outside air it is such a big difference that it goes to a visible gas.
Fog machine - The fog machine works by heating up a mixture of water and glycerin and expelling it into the air.
