Part 2
- On a paper towel label each Carb, and place a small scoop of each carb were it belongs.
- Taste with your finger each one, make sure not to double dip.
- Evaluate sweetness, For each carb assign it a number, define your scale.
- Record the value in the data table, after look up the function and type of carb.
Data analysis:
Sucrose, Glucose, Fructose, and Galactose were the sweetest of the sugars. Monosachh sugars were all very sweet and disachh sugars were to sweet. polysachh sugars were the sweetest and the least sweetest. The results could very easily have changed from person to person depending on the individuals taste buds. All of the sugars that were arranged in a ring and had a branch going vertically were generally the same.
Reflection:
During this project i learned that there are many different types of sugar and they all taste a little different. my favorite part of the lab was tasting how different all the sugar molecules tasted. If i were to do this lab again i would have tried the sugar from sweetest to least sweetest to see if it affected my results. over all I think this lab was fun and educational.
